Hello and thank you for joining us! Could you provide us with an insight on the main inspirations/influences that led to your chosen career pathway in music?
“Hello thanks for having me. I grew up in a family of musicians and I studied classical guitar at the Conservatorium, then I played many different styles, from metal to techno, folk etc. I strongly believe that music is a sacred language, a bridge between humans and the divine. I love all the music, when it is created with the right intentions. I could not imagine any different career pathway.”
Infusing a vast array of elements with each production, we would like to know how your signature sound came to be, as well as how it has evolved as time progresses?
“Heraclitus said: “change is the only constant in life “ and music is also the mirror of our emotions and inner evolution. I have always created music with a lot of freedom, staying true to myself and since I had a spiritual awakening ( 5 years ago ) I felt in love with this formula: intentions+freqeuncy = healing. I felt a universal love for humans and nature and music became also a mission for me, a way to spread positivity and keep us united.”
With versatility a key aspect in the dance scene, could you talk us through your latest musical transition into hybrid and psy-trance, and the impact it has had on your career going forward?
“Touring around the world gave me the opportunity to discover many different musical styles and I am a very curious person; I always love learning new things and exploring new styles. In the past months I have been very fascinated by Indira Paganotto, I love her vision of music and I am very happy to release some music on her label Artcore in the next few months. Playing hybrid, between techno and psy (and other many subgenera) makes me feel free and I love it.”
Adding your own touch to Vini Vici and Maddix’s collab, ‘Spiritum,’ we would like to know the main inspiration behind this upcoming remix, as well as what fans alike can expect from your rendition of this certified hit?
“It was an honor for me to remix this masterpiece and, at the same time, it was not easy because I loved the original very much. This is the first release with my new sound (psy techno) and I tried to add my identity to it, also using sounds from the middle east. For sure I can tell you that I put all my heart into this remix and I hope you will like it. I tested it live and the audience loved it.”
Teaming up with psy-trance legends Vini Vici and Volcano On Mars for a forthcoming release, could you provide us with any hints on this highly-anticipated collaboration, as well as any further information on your upcoming EP that is also in the works on Armada record?
“I am a big fan of Vini Vici and I am blessed by this collaboration with them and the amazing Volcano On Mars. I loved that Vini Vici also paid attention to the lyrics I wanted to sing on the track and they wanted to know my intentions behind them… I felt immediately that we were on the same love frequency. Music and words are vibrations that’s why we should be aware of their power. In the song I sing “no matter what colors we are only egos can separate us, we are all one.” Something very simple but deep. Then I will also release one EP on Armada, one of my favourite labels, five tunes between techno, psy and breakbit, titled ‘Break the dawn’ … however long the night the dawn will break. Let’s keep hope, always.”
Adding to your immersive musical prowess, your passion for meditation and spirituality is also a key factor in your success. Could you talk us through the combination of each, as well as the overall message that you set out to portray? What is the power of music?
“I think we should heal ourselves everyday, because it is a never ending process and music can guide us in the process. I also really love the connection between the two words PRAY and PLAY, because music is a sacred language. I love to share these topics with my followers and in the past months I started to work with my friend Giovanna Calderoni, a mental coach from Italy… exploring the connection between music production and self-awareness. Music producers, with their creations, can improve the quality of life of many people, that’s why it is useful to work on ourselves to be able to deliver the right messages, with the right soundscapes. Composing music can be therapeutic and it helps us to discover and elaborate our trapped emotions. Dance music events can have a significant positive impact on our well-being. These events can trigger the release of mood-enhancing neurotransmitters, help reducing stress levels, and even boost our immune system. Dancing and sharing times with other people integrate brain areas to improve neuroplasticity. It’s fascinating to observe how music can stimulate both the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system, which includes the brain and spinal cord, processes the music, while the peripheral nervous system, which connects the central nervous system to the rest of the body, helps translate these auditory experiences into physical responses. This holistic activation contributes to the overall positive effects on our health and well-being.”
Intensifying your live performances through a unique combination of technology, we would like to know the main preparation process before each show, as well as the impact that each live set up has had on your evolution within the dance scene?
“I play only live, I have never played a dj set in my life. I wanna have fun on stage so I try to change equipment often. I love testing new gear and I am always happy to get new instruments from several companies. I practice a lot in my studio and I am trying to create some special tunes for each country, using traditional sounds… in the next few days I will be in Argentina and I created a special mix for them.”
With the summer season in full flow, could you talk us through what the future holds for Giorgia Angiuli, always in terms of new music, upcoming collaborations and live performances?
“In the next few months I will release a lot of new music on Filth on Acid, Artcore, Alteza, Armada etc and of course I will do many amazing shows including my debut for Tomorrowland in Brazil, Universo Paralello and Dreamstate. I can’t wait.”
