During his powerful set at Tomorrowland 2024, Oliver Heldens got emotional while playing Avicii’s legendary track “Levels.” The atmosphere was electrifying as the crowd sang along, fully engrossed in the tribute.

Reflecting on the experience, Heldens shared, “I got a bit emotional yesterday playing Avicii’s ‘Levels’ at Tomorrowland. I had the honor to open the festival with a special 2.5-hour daybreak set. When I think of Tomorrowland, I also think of Avicii, so I had to include him in this set. Maybe it was the lack of sleep and the heat, but when that iconic ‘Levels’ melody first hit, I just couldn’t hold back the tears. It’s been over six years since we lost Tim, but I know he lives on in so many of our hearts. Rest in Peace Tim, and much love to all of you.”

Heldens continued, “I just realized it’s been more than ten years since Avicii gave me the opportunity to play in front of a massive crowd for the first time. He invited me as his support act in February 2014 at his shows in Belgium and the Netherlands, and I’ll forever be grateful for those experiences! I had just turned 19 back then, and I remember it gave me so much confidence after playing my style for such big audiences. At that time, I had no idea if it was going to work well. Craazy how many things have happened since then! Thanks again, Tim.”

Industry colleagues also commented on Oliver Heldens’ post, with Tiësto writing, “Avicii’s talent is still unbeaten.” The heartfelt tribute resonated with many, highlighting Avicii’s lasting impact on the music world.
