Rivo & Armin van Buuren rework the iconic ‘In And Out Of Love’: Listen

Armin van Buuren & Sharon Den Adel’s In And Out Of Love is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best electronic music tracks in existence. 16 years after the original release, Rivo and Armin decided to breathe fresh air into the legendary track, reworking it in the hottest style of 2024.

If you were to ask an electronic music fan what song introduced him/her to Armin van Buuren, most people would say In And Out Of Love with Sharon Den Adel. And they would be absolutely right to take that pick. Released in 2008, it is still widely considered to be one of the best, if not the best, trance tracks of all time. Fast forward 16 years later, and the track is being revived by Armin van Buuren, but this time around he is joined by Rivo. Rivo is a fresh face on the scene, debuting with a remix for Disclosure & Eliza Dolittle’s You & Me which has been a fan-favorite from the start.

In And Out Of Love has been reworked as an afro house track, which is arguably the trendiest style of 2024 after being popularized by the likes of Keinemusik. Sharon Den Adel’s vocals sound as crisp as ever yet still retain that nostalgic feeling. In a couple of moments throughout the track, Sharon’s vocals have been made to stutter. That is also a pretty interesting producing technique that got artists like Lavern and RSCL to break out in the scene with their respective singles. The emotions are still at an all-time high, with epic drums and a sweet piano accompanying the incredible vocals. In And Out Of Love promises to be a definite summer hit with over 15 million views on TikTok alone.

Rivo spoke with Armada Music and commented on the opportunity to work on such an ambitious rework:

“I heard In And Out Of Love in a club and was instantly mesmerized by the voice and the emotion – it was like a chant of a mermaid. I knew I had to create a track with it. I made a rough demo, tested it live the same night, and posted it on TikTok. The response was overwhelming, and Armin reached out three days later.”
