Amsterdam Dance Event reveals 4 opening concerts
As the summer months come to an end, the electronic music community is preparing for its annual stop at the Amsterdam Dance Event or ADE. Today the event has revealed four official kickoff concerts for the programming.
Every October, the electronic music industry takes over Amsterdam for a week of panels, meetings, and events to celebrate and continue to grow the community. The Amsterdam Dance Event brings together some of the biggest names in the industry, giving artists and fans from around the world the opportunity to interact and hear from the movers and shakers. Beyond the panels and demo feedback sessions, many of the biggest talents in the world also take the stage, delivering incredible performances for the masses. The ADE team has prepared four incredibly unique kickoff concerts to showcase the versatility and variety of the industry for this year’s event.
First up is an intimate evening with Eefje de Visser as the Dutch singer/songwriter delivers a stripped-back performance within the Van Gogh Museum. In a completely different direction, Nick Verstand will join forces with the Cello Octet Amsterdam for COCON II. Held at the vast Door Open Space warehouse, the performance will combine music with cutting-edge technical visuals as well as an interplay between the artists and an 8-armed robot. Set to deliver a more classical and jazz-influenced performance, Greetje Bijma X Oceanic is coming together for a free-form set before LUXE takes over for a live performance at Bimhuis for a night of genre-free expression. The final event is a tribute featuring Metropole Orkest who will celebrate the works of famed producer J Dilla at Melkweg, reinterpreting his music in new and exciting ways.
