Expriencing live music has often been an emotional collective and communal gathering of artists and individuals to share and release their energy. Unfortnately, not all performances evoke such a response and with the addition of cell phones and continiuous filiming, the audience experience is rapidly evolving and not always for the better. After a recent set, Bob Sinclar took to social media to share some of his own thoughts and feelings from the evenings performance and crowd response.

For artists and performers, the joy of live shows comes from the energy provided from an engaged audience. Bob Sinclar recently felt the emotional impact of a less than enthused crowd and shared some thoughts following the set.

In the short video shared to Instagram, Sinclar begins by stating, “Damn I feel so depressed tonight. It’s a nightmare. It was the worst gig of my entire career.” From there, the producer goes on to detail how unresponsive the crowd was. He played his hits, tried switching genres, but was left staring into a sea of cell phones and stagnant bodies. Sinclar recognizes the normal energy and joy that he gets from live sets but that this experience was truly haunting and one that clearly has impacted his psyche.
