Afterlife has truly been on a roll this year. Artists like SCRIPT, Adam Sellouk, Mind Against, and of course, label boss Anyma have successfully infiltrated their tracks into dozens of sets all around the globe. One such artist is Cassian, who has recently formed a formidable friendship with the aforementioned Anyma. Such relationship has landed Cassian an EP release on Afterlife in the form of Dun Dun/Memento EP.
Cassian’s Dun Dun/ Memento EP has been making waves in the industry over the course of 2024. It has easily crept its way into some of 2024’s hottest sets. Some of those sets include John Summit & Green Velvet’s monumental EDC Las Vegas 2024 mainstage closing set and Anyma’s incredible Tomorrowland W1 mainstage performance. While Memento is an incredible track on its own, Dun Dun has been the main talking point all year long. Cassian incorporated a male voice as the main synth of the production, echoing throughout the whole duration of it. The rest of the production is nothing to write home about, even though it’s as crisp as it could be. As far as inventiveness goes, Cassian’s work on the main melody is nothing short of exceptional.
Memento, on the other hand, is a more melodic approach by Cassian. Intriguing and mysterious, it takes inspiration from tracks such as Argy & Omnia’s Aria with its female ethnic vocals. The main melody of Memento is soothing and calm, perfect for melodic techno. All in all, Cassian can be proud of the Dun Dun/ Memento EP as it perfectly showcases just how much he has evolved as an artist over the last couple of years.
