Dr. Dre aims to be featured at LA28 Olympics, in the archery category
An archery gold medalist has invited Emmy and Grammy award winner Dr. Dre, 59, to an Olympics training session ahead of LA 2028
Dr. Dre recently said he would try his hand in the archery category at the 2028 Olympics. In reaction, double Olympic champion archer Justin Grant Huish said he would be happy to help.
About the decision
In a recent interview for the US news magazine Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Dre revealed his ambition to compete in archery. This came just over a week after he performed at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The closing ceremony also featured performances by Snoop Dogg as well as Kavinsky, whose song “Nightcall” broke two world records after the ceremony. He confirmed his will by being “dead a** serious” in his statement, adding “I’m starting to try out for the Olympics in 2028”. Two-time gold medalist Justin Huish told TMZ that Dre has what it takes. Justin added that although the artist is 59 years old, the age doesn’t matter because archery doesn’t have age restrictions and anyone can be successful at it. He added that if he’s really serious, he’s happy to help him, ‘I will train you. I will dedicate my time to train with you.’ he added.

About the past & future
Dr. Dre, André Romelle Young, the Emmy- and multiple Grammy-winning American hip-hop producer, didn’t just start thinking about archery. As far back as 2022, he was demonstrating to Big Boy, the American radio host, his skills and how they are practiced. The rapper, producer, and founding CEO of the Aftermath record label also worked on Snoop Dogg‘s upcoming album. The studio album, titled “Missionary”, will be Snoop’s 20th studio album, reportedly very similar to his 1993 LP “Doggystyle”. By the way, Dr. Dre wants to secure a spot on Team USA’s roster for the 2028 Olympics, which will be held in his hometown of Los Angeles.
It is also interesting to note that Justice and many others were among the performers at the aforementioned 2024 Paris Olympics. These performances are now available to watch.
