MORTEN shares update following recent health scare

In recent years, MORTEN has risen through the ranks of the electronic music landscape to emerge as one of the most exciting producers. Unfortunately, the amount of energy and effort that goes along with touring left him hospitalized this weekend.

MORTEN has become a household name throughout the dance music scene thanks to his incredible Future Rave productions alongside David Guetta. The Danish DJ has utilized that notoriety to catapult his own solo career, splitting time between the outlets as he performs on stages around the world. Although he regularly shares his vigorous workout routines and commitment to healthy dieting, the exertion and lack of sleep from constant gigs were still enough to wear down his body and immune system. In a post shared on social media, MORTEN details how his body began shaking uncontrollably after he got off the stage on Sunday.

Fortunately, he was able to head straight to the hospital where he ended up spending five nights as his body recovered. In the post, he states, “My immune system was basically at zero and I could have contracted anything. Despite having a healthy diet and working out every day, touring so much and an accumulated lack of sleep will hit you at one point. I was diagnosed with Epec and Astrovirus and needed to take some time off to recover.” The medical stay meant he needed to cancel several shows this past week, something he apologized for and hoped to make up soon. Thankfully MORTEN sounds as if the rest has done him well and he looks forward to returning to the stage soon.
