Iconic in every sense of the word, we could not be any happier to be joined by this legendary duo, as the discuss main inspirations and influences, the origin of their style of play, maintaining a versatile nature, their preparations for each of their live shows, releasing their latest single ‘Reppa,’ future plans and so much more.

Hello and thank you for joining us! Could you provide us with an insight on the main inspirations/influences that led to your chosen career pathway in music?

“Hello everybody… too many too mention! Our influences starts from Art, Technology, Travels, Design and any type of ‘artistic expression’ ending to Music. We usually listen to every type of genre, new and old stuff, finding inspirations from everything, from 70’s classics to new Tech House.”

Combining House with Tech elements and vocal contributions, we would like to know the origin behind your signature sound, as well as how it has evolved over the years?

“From the early days our challenge was to build up our ‘personal’ and ‘unique’ musical identity, and the philosophy is focused on fully recognizable sound. We both love old skool Chicago House, passing through the early 2000 tribal House and new Tech House and the evolution was something natural and truly organic thanks to the evolution technology which influences the production process and of course the overall sound. For us it is essential to start every new project with an intuition or a musical idea, could be a sample, a melody or a bass line.”

With versatility a key aspect in the dance scene, could you talk us through your own approach towards music production, and the message you have set out to convey through each of your releases?

“We feel exiting to build up our musical experience day by day, every new step in our producers and remixers career is energy for upgrading ourselves, and every new production and gig are the perfect way to know what is right and emotional, and what is boring and ‘already-heard’, the crowd is the perfect peak-meter!”

Bringing the heat with each of your live performances, we would like to know how you prepare before each show, as well as the overall feel of performing as a duo?

“We have no rules regarding the preparation of our dj sets, we always approach them with a sense of professionalism but with a lot of “freedom.” We think that one of the keys is to interact with the crowd through the music, keeping it as the focus which drives emotions and peaks. The dj performance is obvious in terms of technical skills, but the real journey is dictated by the musical sequence.”

Amassing millions of streams, as well as garnering support from the elite in the dance scene, could you talk us through the significance behind such recognition, and how success has helped shape your career within our community?

“Working in the studio is our true lifestyle, not only because we have our record label ‘Cube Recordings’ to manage, but because it is the place where all our ideas are born. If The Cube Guys project has been active for almost 20 years it is because we have always managed to give new life to our sound and our artistic career.”

Set to release your latest single ‘Reppa,’ we would like to know the main thought process behind this production, as well as the overall message that it sets out to portray?

“That tune is something that really started as a joke… bringing some drums elements into an empty session, we added some vocal lyrics we had on our ‘unreleased ideas folder’ and we immediately felt the right vibe and energy. We dropped it the first time during last Miami Music Week… and finally is out now on Brooke Gee Records!”

With the summer season in full flow, could you provide us with any hints on what the future holds for The Cube Guys, always in terms of new music and live performances?

“We love summer not only for a busy tour gig calendar, but for all different crowds you get in touch with in different countries, it’s fuel for our forthcoming winter plans and productions!”

The ultimate representation of hard work and commitment to one’s craft, The Cube Guys continue to leave their own mark within the dance scene to this very day, and we of course, are all for it.
