The EP-1320 by Teenage Engineering is the latest entry in the brand’s iconic EP series. Branded as “Medieval”, the sampler takes its aim at the medieval period and recreates the instantly recognizable sounds of the time. The EP-1320 is a creative and unique theme for a world-renowned product line.

The sampler comes preloaded with hundreds of medieval samples of multi-sampled instruments and sound effects. They are ranging from the Hurdy Gurdy, Citole, Bowed Harp, Gittern, bagpipes, and trumpets to coconut horse hooves, arrows, farm animals, Chain rattles, battle toms, and swords. In addition to these sounds signature to the period, the sampler includes a new arpeggiator and branded effects like the Torture Chamber Reverb, Dungeon Echo, and Bardic Ensemble.

The EP-1320 features an input line, as well as a built-in microphone for instant sample creation. The device offers several flexible ports, featuring USB-C, MIDI In and Out, Sync In and Out, Audio In and Out, send and punch-in effects, and a built-in speaker. For using the device on the go, the EP-1320 is able to run on 4x AAA batteries.

The EP-1320 offers a sampling frequency of 46 kHz / 16-bit, with an internal signal chain of 32-bit. In addition, it features 128 MB of total memory, with 96 MB dedicated to ROM sounds and an additional 32 MB for user sample memory. To round out the experience, it comes with 9 built-in demo songs, pressure-sensitive pads a high-resolution sequencer, and a fully themed interface.

This unique approach to a modern-day sampler features a wide range of flexible ports, a built-in microphone, and the ability to run on batteries, making it a versatile and portable music-creation tool.
