It's been nine years since Alan Walker released his 2015 career-changing hit ‘Faded.‘ A track that not only introduced the masked producer to the mainstream audience but has also achieved the impressive feat of standing the test of time as it has just crossed over two billion streams.
‘Faded‘ was released on December 3rd, 2015, as a rework of a prior single from Walker, ‘Fade,‘ which was released via NoCopyrightSounds in 2014. Once ‘Fade‘ began to gain traction, it was then that Waker realized he could turn it into a fully developed song, thus creating ‘Faded.‘ Once Walker signed with his new label, he continued to look for the right vocalist to redo the song. He was eventually sent a demo of fellow Norweigan singer Iselin Solheim, and Walker knew it was the perfect fit.
“To Me, this song is what started this journey of mine. But I’m so lucky that so many of you too share a connection with it.”

It didn’t take long for the song to begin resonating with audiences as it quickly shot up the charts and even topped them in 16 countries. Its compelling piano melody at the beginning of the track has become one of the most iconic melodies of the past 20 years. The track does a masterful job of creating progressive tension, and the chorus is one that any electronic music fan knows.
‘Faded‘ has also earned an 11x platinum certification in Sweden, 7x platinum in Italy, and a double diamond in Polan, along with many others. The music video has received over 3 billion views on YouTube, putting it in the top 15 most-viewed videos of all time.
