In a recent chat on SiriusXM’s BPM with host Rida Naser, Alesso opened up about his evolving musical journey, highlighting key collaborations and his foray into the emerging “dance country” genre. One of the standout discussions revolved around his collaboration with Nate Smith on the track I Like It.” Alesso explained how blending country and dance music felt natural, drawing inspiration from previous successful projects, such as his work with Florida Georgia Line. He shared his appreciation for the storytelling aspect of country music and noted that creating “I Like It” was an organic process, completed within just two months. Nate Smith’s passion for the project made the collaboration even more rewarding, further solidifying Alesso’s interest in this unique genre fusion.

In addition to his work with Nate Smith, Alesso reflected on his recent collaboration with David Guetta and Madison Love on the song Never Going Home Tonight.” He revealed that the track, born from a back-to-back DJ set with Guetta in Ibiza, went through several iterations. Initially, Alesso submitted a more pop-influenced version, but Guetta pushed for the “euphoric” sound that fans associate with Alesso. After months of back-and-forth refining, they enthusiastically finalized the song. Alesso highlighted how well the track resonated with live audiences during his summer performances, emphasizing its melancholic yet uplifting vibe, which perfectly suited the end-of-summer atmosphere.
