Solomun gives a new twist to Vintage Culture’s ‘Strange Feelings’
Solomun subtly transforms the Brazilian star’s track, making it more introspective and club-ready.
In May of this year, Brazilian sensation Vintage Culture released ‘Stange Feelings‘, another of his incredible deep cuts and an integral part of his debut album ‘Promised Land‘. Now, a few months later, we have a brand new version from the maestro himself, Solomun. His remix of ‘Strange Feelings’ is now available on all major streaming and download platforms.
The eagerly awaited Promised Land is an album that showcases Vintage Culture’s diverse musical influences and is also a meeting place where different artists collaborate to deliver a complete and profound album. It makes perfect sense that even more artists would join this musical quest to offer new interpretations of Vintage Culture’s vision. Building on the emotional original, Solomun worked on the melody of ‘Strange Feelings’, adding some of his infallible tricks. The original is uplifting and euphoric, yet wrapped in a soundscape that is light in density but deep in feeling. Solomun has given it a new twist, giving it a more clubby vibe.
The bass line has been reworked to add depth to the melody. An army of hypnotic synths takes ‘Strange Feelings’ to a new level, more raw but without losing its dreamy character. The original is sexier and has a warmer groove, but Solomun’s remix gives it a more modern and industrial flavour, wrapping it in a darker garment. It’s a version that does justice to Vintage Culture’s original and enhances it with a floor-ready rendition. It’s well worth checking out this new take on this incredible track, perfect for the transition from summer to club season.
