The Weeknd announces new album ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ and delivers sold-out stadium show in São Paulo
The Weeknd is back as he will be finishing the final chapter in his latest storyline of albums with ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ and delivered a sold-out stadium show in São Paulo this past weekend.
The Weeknd is, without a doubt, one of the most accomplished and revered artists in the industry. His music has created cultural movements and has generated billions of streams. He currently is in the middle of a successful album run with ‘After Hours’ in 2020 and ‘Dawn FM’ in 2024. Now he is back to complete the trilogy as he announces the closing chapter in the story with ’Hurry Up Tomorrow.’ He then celebrated the announcement by hosting a sold-out stadium show in São Paulo this past weekend, and it was one of the most spectacular live events so far this year.
’Hurry Up Tomorrow’ is set to explore the encapsulating existential and self-referential themes that fans have gravitated towards in this storyline over the last few years. The final chapter in this trilogy will show just how much The Weeknd has evolved in his artistry. Along with that comes his newest single off the album ’Dancing In The Flames,’ which shows the brilliance of The Weeknd’s ability to tell a story and shows why this final entry in the acclaimed trilogy might be the best.
The Weeknd celebrated the album announcement this past weekend as he live-streamed a stadium show from São Paulo. The 98-minute show featured a setlist full of The Weeknd’s most celebrated tracks. He was accompanied by an array of backup dancers the entire time while on a stage that had a visually stunning runway with a highly detailed structure in the middle of it and featured guest appearances by Anitta and Playboi Carti. The one-night-only show benefited the Brazilian Soul Fund of BrazilFoundation, which supports communities affected by natural disasters and economic hardships in southern Brazil.
