Jackmaster passes away at 38 after head injury in Ibiza

Jackmaster passed away in Ibiza on the morning of October 12 following complications from a head injury.

Scottish DJ and producer Jack Revill, widely known by his stage name Jackmaster, has tragically passed away at the age of 38. His family confirmed that he died in Ibiza on Saturday, October 12, due to complications from an accidental head injury.

Revill’s family released a heartfelt statement expressing their sorrow: “It is with profound sorrow that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster. His family—Kate, Sean, and Johnny—are utterly heartbroken.” They also requested privacy during this period of immense grief, while expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support from friends, fans, and colleagues.

Born in Glasgow, Revill began his career at just 14, working at the Rubadub Records store where he was paid in vinyl before eventually securing a full-time job. His passion for electronic music blossomed as he co-founded the Numbers label in 2010, which became renowned for pushing creative boundaries and releasing works by groundbreaking artists such as Jamie xx, SOPHIE, and Rustie. Jackmaster’s eclectic taste and genre-spanning DJ sets earned him global recognition. He had recently resumed touring and performing across Europe, the UK, and North America. 

Tributes from across the music industry have poured in following the news of his passing. Disclosure, CamelPhat Skream, and others shared emotional messages honoring Jackmaster’s contributions to music and his vibrant personality. “Thank you for all the amazing memories and inspiration,” wrote Disclosure. “You were one of the nicest guys we ever met,” echoed CamelPhat in their message.
