Orbital to release new LP ‘A Beginner’s Guide’

Home News Orbital to release new LP ‘A Beginner’s Guide’

Orbital will release A Beginner’s Guide on November 8, available on LP, CD, and digital formats. This compilation serves as the perfect introduction to the groundbreaking musical world of the UK electronic music duo, composed of brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll.

Spanning over 30 years, A Beginner’s Guide showcases key moments from Orbital’s illustrious career. It features early chart hits like Chime,” Belfast,” and “Halcyon,” along with fan favorites such as “Lush 3.1.” The collection also includes standout tracks like “Beached,” a collaboration with film score maestro Angelo Badalamenti, and recent releases like “Ringa Ringa” and “Dirty Rat” (featuring Sleaford Mods). Notably, the CD version contains five additional tracks, including “Doctor?”—their breaks-flecked rendition of the iconic Doctor Who theme.

Since reuniting with London Records, Orbital has released the anthology 30 Something, filled with reworks and remixes, alongside their critically acclaimed studio album Optical Delusion. Earlier this year, they reissued their debut album, known as The Green Album, which received widespread acclaim.

The accompanying Green + Brown Album Tour has seen Orbital headline festivals, including Coachella and Glastonbury. The tour will resume this fall with dates in the US, followed by European shows in 2025, culminating in a London performance at the O2 Academy Brixton on April 5.
