Sebastian Ingrosso releases new solo single ‘Floods’: Listen
Throughout his storied career, Sebastian Ingrosso has been at the forefront of electronic music and defining its sound and trends. The Swedish producer has now returned to his solo roots as he looks to start a new chapter.
Whether working within the structures of the Swedish House Mafia, or under the umbrella of the various aliases he has formed with either one of the group members over the years, Sebastian Ingrosso has often found himself working alongside others. He hasn’t delivered any true solo tracks since the 2016 hit Dark River. Not that he has been stagnant since as he has focussed on many projects alongside Axwell and Steve Angello as well as delivering the first official Swedish House Mafia album in the intervening years. Now he has opted to begin a new solo journey starting with the dark yet driving new single, Floods.
When Sebastian Ingrosso first revealed that he would be releasing new solo music, he stated, ‘I am on a journey of traveling inwards and this is one of the many stories I hope to tell.‘ With Floods, the track opens with a distorted and flickering female vocal before a pulsing house rhythm kicks in. Ingrosso uses the distorted female vocal to great effect, often layering it and providing width to the track as the percussion drives forward and little fragments of keys and synths help build the rest of the foundation. As fans begin this new journey with Ingrosso, the release of Floods reveals that he is ready to embark on a dark yet satisfying venture.
