Solid State Logic (SSL) launches SSL 2 MKII and SSL 2+ MKII Audio Interfaces

Solid State Logic (SSL) has just released two new products, the SSL 2 MKII and SSL 2+ MKII, which are improved versions of their popular USB audio interfaces.

SSL MKII Audio Interfaces bring in a bunch of new features and added software. Key highlights include:

32-bit/192 kHz converters for high-quality audio recording and playback
Two SSL-designed microphone preamps:
- 64 dB gain range
- 116.5 dB dynamic range
- Ultra-low noise
- Independently switchable High Pass Filters on each channel
- Switchable +48V phantom power for condenser microphones
- Combi-XLR inputs that double as line-level inputs:
  - 117 dB dynamic range
  - +24 dBu maximum input level
  - Two dedicated auto-detect instrument (DI) inputs on the front panel (Hi-Z inputs)
  - Professional-grade DC-coupled balanced outputs with 120 dB dynamic range
  - Dual headphone outputs with high-current NJM headphone amps:
    - 119.5 dB dynamic range
    - Capable of driving any type of headphone
    - Zero-latency monitoring with ‘Mix’ control on the front panel
    - Legacy 4K Analogue Enhancement circuit, inspired by the SSL 4000 series console:
      - Adds harmonic distortion and high-frequency EQ boost
      - USB-bus-powered design for portability

Additional features specific to the SSL 2+ MKII:

4x balanced outputs (compared to 2x on the SSL 2 MKII)
Independent volume control for headphone outputs ‘A’ and ‘B’
Ability to create separate ‘artist’ and ‘producer’ headphone mixes
