The Blessed Madonna & A-Trak releases ‘Brand New’: Listen
The Blessed Madonna and A-Trak are back with a new release, featuring the vocals of Irish singer James Vincent McMorrow on “Brand New”
The Blessed Madonna is in the process of preparing a debut album. A sneak peek of this is ‘Brand New’, for which the legendary A-Trak and Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow have put together a really interesting track.
The Blessed Madonna’s debut album will be released on October 18, according to the official announcement of the artist. The album, ‘Godspeed’, features 24 tracks, including the intro “God Has Left The Room”. The latest release from this LP, titled “Brand New,” followed the release of “Edge of Saturday Night,” which featured a collaboration with Kylie Minogue. Now she has teamed up with legendary producer Alain Macklovitch, better known as A-Trak, who burst onto the international DJ scene in the late 2000s. A-Trak is perhaps best known for the hit song “Barbra Streisand”, which he and Armand van Helden produced in 2010 under the Duck Sauce project. The Blessed Madonna and A-Trak also teamed up with Irish musician James Vincent McMorrow. James’s name and his work in the industry have been recognized by millions and hundreds of millions of listens.
“In a lot of ways ‘Brand New’ was the trickiest cut on the album”, shared The Blessed Madonna.
The track takes on a genuine club sound, which thanks to the house beats, defines a distinct idea. No question about it, as Marea (The Blessed Madonna) said she struggled quite a bit and that’s why she approached A-Trak, who helped her create the concept of “Brand New”, which is available on almost any streaming service today. The Blessed Madonna has shared some interesting information about the production, including why this is the toughest track from her upcoming album. In it, she also talked about the singer James Vincent McMorrow, about whom she said “I felt like James’ voice and writing was an opportunity to strike a precarious balance between house and a certain kind of euphoric neo soul that you heard”. And that’s absolutely fine, as James’ vocals really do fit the final outcome. Interestingly, TBM showcased “Brand New” at the album leak party at the prestigious Smartbar Club in Chicago.
