Future House Music (FHM), one of the most influential independent labels in electronic music, marks its 10th anniversary with a documentary chronicling its remarkable journey. Released on YouTube, the film provides fans with an intimate glimpse into the label’s evolution—from a small Facebook fan page in 2014 to a global powerhouse in the EDM-house music scene.

What began as a platform for future house enthusiasts quickly grew into a hub connecting fans and artists. By 2015, FHM had launched as a record label with its first single by Jonas Aden. Over the years, the label has released tracks from notable artists like Brooks, Wankelmut, Skytech, and many others. Their first office in Rotterdam opened in 2016, and despite early challenges in building a team, co-founder Aart van den Dool credits their success to surrounding themselves with the right people.

The label’s milestones include hosting its first festival stage at We Are Electric in 2017, achieving a viral hit with Brass in 2018, and celebrating 1 million YouTube subscribers in 2019. However, the journey wasn’t without hurdles. FHM navigated copyright issues and the pandemic’s impact on live events and club-focused music. Yet, they remained dedicated to their mission of fostering talent and building a strong community.

In 2023, FHM significantly expanded its global presence with showcases across Japan, the USA, and Europe. Furthermore, their documentary, which premiered at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), not only celebrates these milestones but also provides valuable insight into their challenges, triumphs, and vision for the future.

Co-founder Gino van Eijk reflects, “This documentary is a testament to teamwork and passion. Moreover, it’s not just a celebration—it’s a story of pushing boundaries and building something meaningful.”

As Future House Music looks ahead, their commitment to innovation and supporting emerging talent continues to define their place at the forefront of house music.
