In this exclusive interview for the November edition of our We Rave You magazine, our cover star Indira Paganotto discusses main influences, the origin of her style of play, the creation of her label, ARTCORE Records, future plans and more.

Leading the way in the diversification of sound(s), Indira Paganotto has left a lasting impact within the dance scene ever since her emergence, whilst each of her endeavours speak volumes on the truly versatile nature that she possesses. Advocating those highly-energetic vibes with each live performance, the Madrid-born DJ/Producer leaves no doubt to the imagination, as she effortlessly ignites a fusion between techno and psy-trance, creating a genre of her own. A style of play that illustrates the authenticity in her music, Indira Paganotto has become a leader for her own psy-techno sound, energetic live sets, and of course, a signature sound that provides that instant recognition of pure excellence within the dance scene. From headlining major clubs and events worldwide, to garnering support from the elite acts within our community, as well as launching her very own ARTCORE record label back in 2022, Indira Paganotto is well and truly conquering the dance industry in a manner that is quite frankly out of this world; and with no signs of slowing down, this can only be considered as the beginning to a musical career that will push boundaries and continue to defy the realms of music and everything that it has to and will offer.

Hello and thank you for joining us! Could you provide us with insight on the main inspiration/influences that led to your chosen career pathway in music?

“Thank you so much for having me! My biggest inspiration has always been my father. Growing up, I was surrounded by music—he was a DJ in Goa during the 80s, which had a huge impact on me. Music was everywhere in my life from the very start, and it gave me a strong sense of freedom and creativity. But even though his journey shaped me, I had to find my own way. I didn’t just want to follow in his footsteps—I wanted to create something uniquely my own. I spent years immersing myself in vinyl, soaking up everything from house and techno to trance, and gradually built my own voice. This journey is what really defines me.”

With versatility a key aspect in the dance industry, we would like to know how your signature sound came to be, as well as its evolution over time.

“My sound developed over many years of working alone in the mountains of Spain. I spent so much time experimenting, locked away in my home studio, figuring out how I could tell my own story through music. Each step along the way—from vinyl mixing to producing—helped me find myself and my sound. I’ve learned to trust the process and embrace change, and that’s where my evolution really lies.”

Growing up in a household where music was highly significant, and with your father being a DJ in Goa, India during the 80s, could you talk us through the impact this has had on your own career, including any key lessons received from your father along the way?

“Growing up with my dad being a Goa DJ was magical. It shaped me in ways I’m still discovering. He taught me so much, from the technical side of vinyl mixing to the emotional side of reading a crowd. But most importantly, he gave me the freedom to explore my own path. Even though I was influenced by the psychedelic energy of Goa, I knew I had to find my own way. My dad gave me a foundation, but I built on it in my own way. I’m grateful to him for everything, but at the end of the day, my music is my own voice.”

With psy-trance playing a significant role in your ascendancy within the dance scene, we would like to know how you discovered this genre, as well as how it influences your fusion of techno and psy-trance?

“Psy-trance has always felt like home to me. It was part of my upbringing because of my dad’s work, so it was naturally one of the first genres I connected with. But as I grew older and immersed myself in the club scene in Madrid, I started falling in love with techno as well. The energy, the freedom, and the darker sounds all called to me. Eventually, I realised that I didn’t have to choose between genres. I started blending the elements of psy-trance with the techno, creating something new. That fusion became my signature and allowed me to stand out while still staying true to my roots.”

Launching your record label back in 2022, could you talk us through the foundation of ARTCORE Records, its core values and vision, as well as the events held under the label?

“ARTCORE was born from a dream of creating a family—a safe place where artists could feel free to express themselves. It’s more than just a label; it’s a community where we support each other like no one else does. We’ve had friends, DJs, and artists fly over just to be with us, not just for the music but to be part of the family. It’s truly amazing to see how ARTCORE has grown. In 2024, we were chosen as the best label, which still feels surreal. And we’re not slowing down—there are some crazy EPs and VA projects still on the way. Next year’s showcases are going to be even bigger, with events and experiences no one has ever done before.”

With a stellar rise for ARTCORE on both the label and the events side, we would like to know any plans that have been prepared for this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, as well as any similar plans for the future?

“For ADE this year, we decided to keep things quiet. We’re saving something massive for next year in Amsterdam, and it’s going to be unlike anything anyone has seen before. I can’t say too much right now—we want to keep it a secret—but trust me, it’s worth the wait. We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure it will blow people’s minds.”

Partnering with MotoGP and performing from the podium straight after a race, as well as becoming Land Rover’s Defender brand ambassador, could you share your outlook on these partnerships and their significance in expanding your reach?

“Both of these partnerships were dreams come true. Performing at MotoGP right from the podium was unbelievable—I’ll never forget that moment for the rest of my life. And working with Land Rover as a Defender ambassador was an absolute honour. It’s amazing to connect with brands that are so different from the music industry, but that’s what made it special. These experiences opened new doors for me and allowed me to reach audiences I never thought possible. It makes me emotional just thinking about it, and I’m so grateful for every moment.”

Edging closer to the end of 2024, could you talk us through what the future holds for Indira Paganotto in terms of new music, upcoming collaborations, and live performances?

“This year has been incredible but also overwhelming—it’s been so busy, and there’s still so much more coming. Honestly, 2025 is going to be scary, in the best way possible. We have so many exciting things planned that I almost feel afraid, but I trust my team completely. With their support, I know we can handle anything. Next summer in Ibiza is already looking insane, and I’ll also be releasing an album with some collaborations no one would expect. We’re also planning something extraordinary for ADE next year that’s going to push boundaries. It’s all very exciting, and I can’t wait to share this journey with everyone, and I can’t thank my warriors enough.”

Remarkable in every sense of the word, we will most certainly be keeping a close eye on Indira Paganotto and all her future endeavours within the dance scene, but for the time being, you can stay fully up to date by following her on Facebook, Instagram and Spotify!
