Home Featured KSHMR reveals how he helped ghost produce ‘Tsunami’

The practice of utilizing ghost producers is quite the common occurrence in the dance music scene. KSHMR reveals how he helped Borgeous get a start by producing one of his early hits.

KSHMR has long cemented his status as an incredible producer and hit maker. His early work with the Far East Movement, producing the massive chart-topping single Like A G6 ensured his place in the music industry even before he began his current solo path. As he transitioned into the electronic music spae, he often helped ghost producer tracks for other artists in the scene. While Borgeous was making a name for himself as a DJ, he was looking to get into production and KSHMR, who was a friend, helped craft one of his early hits, Tsunami.

In the short clip, the producer reveals how this is a common practice in the industry, and at the time the label was pushing for a track similar to Martin Garrix’s Animal, which was a major hit then. With that in mind, he built that track and it eventually made its way into DVBBS hands and the duo really enjoyed it and leaned into the tsunami message. The full interview is available below and KSHMR gives excellent insight into the industry and how he enjoyed helping a friend get a start.
