Massive Attack and Daft Punk among best-selling records of 2024

Home Exclusive Massive Attack and Daft Punk among best-selling records of 2024

With 2024 coming to an end, the popular music marketplace Discogs has shared a list of the best-selling albums of the year. Amongst the artists are releases from Massive Attack and Daft Punk.

The ongoing vinyl revival has been a bright spot for fans and artists as the market for physical music continues to thrive in the age of streaming. For most collectors, Discogs is a must, providing information and pricing for all releases. The site regularly reviews the most popular, most expensive, and other metrics for what trends occur on the platform. Now that 2024 is winding down, Discogs has shared the best-selling records of the year and several dance albums made the list. The list itself was topped by superstars Olivia Rodrigo, Jack White, and Billie Eilish, but Massive Attack and Daft Punk earned entries in the top 15 spot.

At number 13 is the iconic Massive Attack album Blue Lines and their beloved third album Mezzanine came in at number 10. With Pearl Jam’s latest offering Dark Matter sneaking in at 11, Daft Punk is tucked in at number 12. The duo’s 2024 Record Store Day release, Something About Us (Love Theme From Interstella 5555) made the cut as fans looked to complete their own collections with the exclusive offering. It is good to see that records are still being bought at high rates and that dance music is a major part of that appeal.
