Anjunachill is set to debut its new compilation series with ‘Anjunachill 01 (Mixed by Above & Beyond)’, arriving on March 3, 2025. Notably, this release includes a six-track limited-run vinyl sampler, further showcasing the label’s commitment to ambient and downtempo music.

The Anjuna labels have long embraced the chillout genre. However, a defining moment came in 2014 when Above & Beyond played a spontaneous sunset yoga set at Burning Man’s Robot Heart stage. As a result, this transformative experience inspired their meditation album ‘Flow State’, which ultimately became a cornerstone of their ambient explorations.

The Evolution of Above & Beyond – Anjuna’s Chillout Sound

Building on that success, ‘Reflections Vol. 1’ arrived in 2020 on Anjunadeep, laying the groundwork for a dedicated chillout imprint. Officially launched in May 2022 as Reflections, the label flourished as a home for atmospheric soundscapes. Across Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, chillout gems have remained essential, from Above & Beyond’s ‘Tri-State’ and ‘Sun In Your Eyes’ to standout tracks from Andrew Bayer, Cubicolor, Croquet Club, and the RIAA-certified Gold single ‘Don’t Leave’ from ‘Flow State’.

‘Anjunachill 01’: A Fresh Take on Ambient Music

For over two decades, the Anjunabeats Volume and Anjunadeep compilations have served as sonic milestones, capturing the evolving essence of the labels. Now, Above & Beyond continue this tradition by curating and mixing the first installment of the new series, ‘Anjunachill 01’. The mix opens with their latest ambient track, ‘Shall We Begin’, released in January 2025 to mark the label’s relaunch and celebrate 25 years of Anjuna. It also features music from Jody Wisternoff & James Grant, Dusky, Leaving Laurel, Yotto, and Croquet Club, alongside Cephas Azariah’s ‘Joy Paradox’ and an exclusive remix by Peter Sandberg of a track from Mark Barrott’s ‘Everything Changes, Nothing Ends’.

Showcasing New and Established Talent

Furthermore, expanding the label’s reach, the compilation introduces fresh talent with new tracks from Planet of Souls (a collaboration between Paul Rogers and Tom Barlow), PROFF, Redkat (aka Riccardo Derio of Alex Sonata & The Rio), and Ad Harmonium, a South African duo featuring a member of Archaellum and felthabit.

Blending timeless classics with emerging talent, ‘Anjunachill 01’ honors the label’s deep roots in the chillout genre while paving the way for the next wave of artists. The compilation arrives March 3, 2025, on Anjunachill.
