Adam Port calls out fraudlulent user on Telegram

With social media fully ingrained into modern society, it has certainly changed the way fans can interact with their favorite artist. Of course, this modern world comes with its fair share of issues and impersonators looking to make a quick buck off of unaware users. Today via Instagram stories, Adam Port revealed a a bad-faith actor using his name to try to exploit fans for cash on a social media platform. In the short story, Port posts a screenshot from the popular messenger site Telegram and writes, " This is FRAD! (sic) I Don't use Telegram. Don't send any money to this person. Please share this news."

In the modern world, where social media serves as a quick connection between artists and fans, sometimes unsavory figures try to profit off of others’ names. Adam Port took to social media to reveal a fraudulent actor looking to make money from the producer’s name.

Along with the image, he revealed the fake profile and circled the profile associated with it. Although Adam Port’s picture is on the page, @the_adamport is not THE Adam Port. Unfortunately, this is an issue associated with social media but credit to Port for calling it and requesting that the news be shared so fans aren’t scammed out of their own money or led to believe they are talking to the artist. While it is fun to interact with the artists that make the music beloved by so many, it is important to be careful when associating with profiles on social media.
