Anyma discusses the end of the Genesys era in recent interview
Anyma’s meteoric rise in recent years is a culmination of hard work, his legacy with Tale Of Us, and a commitment to combining music, visuals, and technology. Following a historic residency in Las Vegas, the producer discussed the project’s future.
When Anyma debuted in 2021, fans recognized Matteo Milleri more for his time as a member of Tale Of Us than a bonafide solo star. With the release of his debut album, Genesys, he quickly dispelled all doubts, rising through the ranks to be one of the premier producers on the planet. While his output and live shows have been incredibly well-received, Milleri has been tight-lipped regarding the project and his career. Following his recent run of shows at The Sphere in Las Vegas, he talked with Variety on a wide-ranging number of topics.
Throughout the interview, Anyma is open and honest about the beginning of the project, online accusations of his success being due to his wealthy father, and the effort that went into the visuals of the recent Sphere shows. Perhaps most interesting though was his thoughts on the future of the project. The shows in Las Vegas were titled The End of Genesys and he intends to follow through with his plans to move on to a new chapter following the release of Genesys III. Although Milleri doesn’t dive into details, he says, “This arrived to a point of saturation. When ideas get recycled a bit too much, I’m the first one to think, what’s next? I want to move forward. But I want to give it a very glorified ending, because it was such an important part of my music and my life.”
