The impact and influence that Axwell has had on the electronic dance scene can not be understated. Between his involvement in the Swedish House Mafia and his imprint, Axtone Records, he has pioneered the genre.

Now, it appears that Axwell has officially left his imprint, Axtone Records, resigning and selling the company. In recent years, things at Axtone have slowed down as new releases and anniversary compilations have certainly slowed down. With little fanfare, it seems that Axwell has opted to officially walk away from his imprint and sell it off to Pophouse Entertainment. The company has risen in recent years as an investment firm in artists’ catalogs. The company’s roster includes the works of Kiss, Avicii, and the Swedish House Mafia.

With a business relationship already in place, it seems that Axwell officially decided to part ways with Axtone back in November of 2024. According to data from UK Companies House, Axtone was officially sold off on November 22nd, with Axwell stepping down from the label and selling off the imprint. At this time, there is no sure future of what Axtone will look like going forward. Fans and interested parties will have to await an official announcement to hear what the future holds for Axtone.
