Jasmin Blust joins with Tube & Berger for ‘California Dreamin’’: Listen
Despite being originally released in the 1960s, California Dreamin’ has endured through the decades as a timeless anthem. Now Jasmin Blust teams up with Tube & Berger for a fresh melodic techno version of the hit.
Crafting cover songs has long been a staple of the music industry. As rock & roll came to the forefront in the 50s and 60s, many hits were covered by different artists as they tried to gain a foothold amongst listeners. That trend has never gone away and now Jamsin Blust, along with Tube & Berger has breathed new life into a classic 60s anthem for today’s melodic techno fans. Discussing the inspiration for the remix, Blust says, “The song “California Dreamin’’ has always inspired me. Now I finally have my melodic techno version that I’ve been missing and thanks to the super cool studio collab with Tube & Berger, it turned out exactly how I imagined it. I’m so excited about this release and about what’s ahead with Warner Music as my label partner.”
Originally released by The Mamas and the Papas in 1965, California Dreamin’ served as more than a timestamp of the decade but rather endured in the years since thanks to its brilliant lyrics and production. Providing fans with a modern remix, Jasmin Blust alongside Tube & Berger showcases how timeless the anthem is and provides a new generation of fans the chance to digest the track. The track feels even more immediate as the Los Angeles region continues to deal with the horrific wildfires, California Dreamin’ is a wonderful reminder of what makes the state such a special place for so many as the global community looks on and hopes to support its rebuild.
