Knock2 marks another career highlight with debut solo album ‘nolimit’: Listen
Showcasing his genre diversity with aplomb, Knock2 delivered another high-octane project that further solidified his status as the modern “golden child.”
Nowadays and in the past, many artists tend to release a successful hit song and you barely hear from them anymore. After dropping dashstar* in 2022, many believed that the success Knock2 enjoyed with the song might be his most significant. Luckily, the San Diego native proved everyone wrong. After several notable festival performances, headline shows, and a rock-solid friendship with ISOxo, it is safe to say that he is what you can call a modern “golden child” (alongside his aforementioned partner in crime). nolimit, Knock2’s debut solo album, showcases everything he stands for in the electronic music scene and solidifies his status as one-to-watch in the years coming.
nolimit doesn’t promise collaborations with massive names. Instead, Knock2 has opted to work with friends and lesser-known artists such as the trap prodigy RemK, frequent collaborator Sophia Gripari, and cade clair, who worked with Knock2 and ISOxo on their debut project 4EVR. The genre diversity of nolimit is impressive too. Knock2’s signature bass house is as present as ever but alongside his well-known style, he experimented with techno, trap, and even drum ‘n’ bass sounds. From some of the most emotional work by Knock2 ever to upbeat hip-hop-influenced work, there is something for everyone on nolimit.
3 of the 17 tracks on nolimit have been released as album singles already and they’ve built up the hype flawlessly. As mentioned before, Sofia Gripari is a pivotal part of the album and she sang in hold my hand. For the other 2 singles, Knock2 released feel U luv Me and come aliv3 with RL Grime and Abi Flynn.
All in all, nolimit is exactly what the name implies. There is absolutely no limit in Knock2’s musical arsenal and who knows with what will he surprise us in the future?
