Swedish DJ Avicii, who passed away almost seven years ago at the age of 28, has become a musical icon for many aspiring producers. However, there was someone who was even a role model for Tim Bergling, namely Laidback Luke, with whom they had a very good connection. Recently, Laidback Luke shared an older voicemail that Avicii sent him, and it has very deep emotions in it.

“I was one of those upcoming producers that you helped, and I always respect and love you for that, man.” – said Avicii in the voicemail.

Laidback Luke, or Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen by his birth name, the Dutch producer and DJ has undoubtedly helped many. At the time, he ran a larger forum for producers and fans, which is unfortunately no longer active, though it would certainly offer much interest if it still existed. No doubt, since it was on this forum that Afrojack, Steve Angello, and Avicii, among others, asked for feedback on their demos. It was the legendary forum where Avicii, then aged 17, asked people if they liked his music, under the name Timberman. Avicii has often recalled this in public before, as well as his connection with Laidback Luke, such as in one of his Twitter posts from 2013.

The Netflix documentary “Avicii – I’m Tim” was released in the New Year. This film shows how kind-hearted a man Tim Bergling was, and nothing proves it better than the voicemail from Avicii to Laidback Luke mentioned earlier. This voicemail was sent by Avicii to celebrate the 100th episode of Laidback Luke’s radio show Mixmash Radio. But he didn’t just want to celebrate that, he wanted to thank him for all the good he had done for him. And no wonder, because in conclusion, it’s safe to say that to build a successful career, it’s crucial to have people who support one achieve their goals.
