Mike Shulman, the CEO of the AI company Suno, was featured on the latest episode of 20VC with Harry Stebbings. Suno was originally an enterprise AI audio tool, but it shifted its focus to music-generating software. Shulman believes that music should be much more engaging. Moreover, he believes that AI will eventually democratize music and help people who are not familiar with the process of music production to create good songs.

Shulman believes that AI is the future, and more people will take part in making music with AI. He believes that this will change how consumers (listeners) interact with music. “To me, it seems crazy that music should not be as engaging as Fortnite,” says Shulman. Shulman wants to see a future where more people can make a living making music without all the struggles of the process. He goes on to say that people don’t really enjoy the process of making music. When asked about why he thinks this way, Shulman states that many people drop out during the process of making music.
Although AI music production sounds promising, the podcast received huge negative feedback from the audience. Moreover, many people criticized Suno with regard to their ongoing lawsuit accusing them of using copyrighted music to train their models. A user commented
