Tomorrowland 2025: Biggest surprises from the lineup announcement

Home Featured Tomorrowland 2025: Biggest surprises from the lineup announcement

Tomorrowland 2025 has officially announced its lineup with over 600 artists that will play across two weekends in Belgium this summer. Here are some of the biggest surprises to come out of the billing.

Tomorrowland 2025 takes place this summer over the course of two weekends in July. As the mecca of dance music, its lineup is always packed with unique and exclusive acts. Once again, Tomorrowland will be rolling out another massive lineup with over 600 artists that will grace the stages in Boom, Belgium. With such a star-studded list of performers also comes a few surprises that are worth mentioning.

When looking at the lineup, you’ll realize that Alesso has been left off. The Swedish producer has been a key figure over the last few editions of the festival, but over the last few months, he has been silent on his social media accounts as well as dealt with health issues in December that caused him to cancel a few shows. His health status at this time is currently unknown. One of the more exciting announcements from the lineup was the continuation of Anyma b2b Solomun after Ultra Miami confirmed the two will be playing a set at their festival in March. Anyma had arguably one of the best years of any electronic artist in 2024, and letting the Tomorrowland crowd witness this b2b with a beloved DJ such as Solomun will be special.

Swedish House Mafia are back, however, maybe not entirely in the way you would think. Yes, the trio is playing as the classic Swedish House Mafia we have all grown to love, but they are also listed on the lineup a second time as “Axwell b2b Steve Angello b2b Sebastian Ingrosso.“ This decision could mean that the three are planning to play an entirely different set that could be a tone shift from a Swedish House Mafia performance. What type of music would be featured is currently uncertain, but the idea is intriguing. Another takeaway that many might not have noticed is that while Anyma is performing, Tale of Us is not. What once seemed like a certainty at Tomorrowland is no longer the case, which has now fueled break-up rumors between the duo but nothing is confirmed. And lastly, in one of the biggest reveals, Martin Garrix will be returning to the festival after not playing last year. Just recently, Garrix said he will be cutting back on shows this year to work on music, so the inclusion of Tomorrowland in the summer tour is incredible to see.
