World’s first Wireless DJ Controller Makes Industry Breakthrough at CES 2025

DJ controllers have undergone significant technological advancements in the past decade, and this new technology from Hercules is perhaps the most significant development. At CES 2025, the Hercules DJControl Mix Ultra received the Best in Innovation Award. This device represents the first fully wireless DJ controller in the industry, designed specifically for integration with mobile applications and streaming platforms.

The CES Innovation Awards® program is a yearly competition that celebrates exceptional design and engineering in consumer technology products. It highlights honorees across various product categories and recognizes the top-rated entries in each. The Hercules DJControl Mix Ultra was among the list of finalists that included products such as the Asus ZenScreen Smart Series, Aurzen ZIP projector, Base on Board, Dropshot Explorer, Humming Blocks, Samsung TV Karaoke, TooToon, X-Runner, and Yaber Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector.

Technology Overview

The controller, developed in partnership with Algoriddim’s djay app, emphasizes the rising trend of music mixing using mobile devices and streaming services. Hercules has now officially announced the release of this controller. While this may not be the ideal choice for professional setups, it is particularly suitable for house parties and hobbyist DJs. The DJControl Mix Ultra is an upgraded version of the DJ Control Mix, which was unveiled in 2022.

The DJControl Mix Ultra is entirely wireless and cable-free, requiring no connections for data transfer or power. Created for mobile-first DJs, it can be paired wirelessly via Bluetooth 4.0. The device connects with iOS/Android smartphones/tablets for music input and wireless speakers for output, and is fully powered by a built-in battery. The Ultra Mix will be available for purchase later this month.
