Two years on and ‘Castles in the Sky’ is finally being released! ,” says 1991 of the highly requested version of the iconic classic.

For 1991 and Subsonic (UK-based drum & bass superstars), its been a long time coming for this release. Over the past two years, the pair have been lighting up their sets worldwide with their fan-favourite version of the iconic Ian Van Dahl 1999 hit ‘Castles In The Sky‘. Originally a bootleg, the pair have been working over the past couple of years to get it cleared for an official release, and today it comes via Armada Music.

“I was introduced to ‘Castles In The Sky’ growing up through my parents, it’s one of their favourites from the era and coincidentally, also one of mine. It’s so good to see our spin on it finally released to the world.” – Subsonic

Although the track has been remixed and reworked many times, its this version that has become most well known as of late, and that’s also thanks in part to fellow drum & bass legends Sub Focus and Dimension, with their continuous support drawing more attention to it.

“Two years on and ‘Castles in the Sky’ is finally being released! This collab has taken various forms and has been played out countless times over the past couple of years but it’s now ready to be put out into the world and we’re so happy that you all can finally listen to it in full.” – 1991

1991 and Subsonic are taking over the year with their ‘Castles In The Sky’ version, and you can stream it here.
