Don’t Let Daddy Know celebrates biggest edition yet in Amsterdam [Event Review]
Don’t Let Daddy Know returned to the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam for one of its biggest editions yet, with some of the hottest names in electronic music.
From Axwell to W&W, Don’t Let Daddy Know is renowned for its eclectic lineups to cater to every taste on the electronic spectrum, and this year’s edition in Amsterdam was no different. On 1 March, DLDK returned to its home of the Ziggo Dome for another unforgettable night of pure magic, proving once again why it sits high atop the event circuit as one of the most anticipated nights of the year. Although it holds editions all over Europe and the rest of the world, Amsterdam is unarguably its biggest night of the year, with the event’s Dutch roots growing stronger and stronger each year. This year was one of its standouts, not only for its lineup but for its inimitable energy brought by the diverse crowd, and we were there to witness it all.
Priding itself on its diverse lineup, this year was as diverse as ever in terms of different genres it brought to the table (or rather, stage). In terms of funky, progressive anthems the master Axwell dominated the stage that he’s no stranger to, being a staple of DLDK and especially its Amsterdam event. Another staple act to DLDK are W&W, and they didn’t disappoint, bringing a wide range of electrifying anthems such as their recent mega-viral success ‘OIIA OIIA (Spinning Cat).’ Rebelion and Showtek kept the roof raised with energy levels with their own insane sets, not to forget Ben Nicky and Seth Hills. Keeping progressive house alive, Third Party and Matisse & Sadko had the emotions flowing with an unforgettable set that had fans leaving with core memories. All this rounded out by Jordan John and Thomas Newson b2b Magnificence on support made for a spectacular edition from start to finish to say the least.
Another thing Don’t Let Daddy Know prides itself on is its production, and it truly upped its game this year. Utilising the entire venue space from its walls to its ceilings, it transformed the Ziggo Dome from a typical venue to an electronic paradise. From CO 2 cannons shooting down from the ceiling, to beams of LED light strips submerging crowds into the world of DLDK, no expense was spared. In addition to this, they introduced a new factor, adding dancers performing in the crowd alongside the partygoers. This made fans feel as though they were part of the show in a way that has never been done before, and blurred lines between art and reality.
Back for more next year, the dates are already locked in. Taking place once again at the Ziggo Dome on 7 March 2026, you can visit the site here to be in the know. Before that though, the DLDK world domination continues this year in Chile, and you can see all upcoming events here.
