BAMBII criticises Do LaB for faulty sound system on the Coachella stage

Bambii came out on social media to hit out at Coachella after malfunctioning audio equipment marred her set last weekend.

Jamaican-Canadian DJ and producer BAMBII has come forward to criticise Coachella as the equipment she used during her set malfunctioned last weekend. Revealing all on her Instagram Stories, she described how multiple issues with the sound system and DJ set-up on the Do LaB stage impacted her performance causing her to feel “misrepresented and embarrassed in front of thousands“.

She also described how the issues hadn’t come without warning from the artist who had played before her who had told her the audio had been cutting out intermittently, at some points to dead silence. On the lack of urgency to fix the recurring issue, she wrote “it’s safe to assume had we been bigger artists on the main stage this issue would’ve been fixed way earlier within the show day.” She added, “though some effort was made after my team and I pushed the issue I believe there was a comfort with letting the artists play below industry standard because we were primarily all seen as up-and-coming female artists.”

BAMBII also revealed that she had not been paid for the set, and had travelled to Coachella out of her own pocket – in her own words, “thousands of my own money to invest in an opportunity.” As a result of the adversity of her trip, she felt no option but to be honest about her experience and treatment.
