Beatport keeps growing 5–10% yearly – even as downloads collapse elsewhere, it thrives by serving DJs directly [IMS Ibiza 2025 Report]
Beatport continues its growth streak, thriving as a niche marketplace for creators despite global download decline.
While the global download market continues its long descent, Beatport has quietly built one of the most consistent growth stories in the music industry. According to the IMS Business Report 2025, Beatport once again posted 5–10% revenue growth in 2024, extending a streak that began in 2017.
What sets Beatport apart is its commitment to serving a specific ecosystem: DJs, producers, and independent labels. The platform currently supports 218,000 active artists and 30,000 labels, offering a unique dual role as both storefront and professional resource. Its catalog is curated not for passive listening, but for performance, remixing, and real-time creative use.
While others race to scale – Beatport’s model wins by staying specialized
While streaming platforms pursue scale and general audiences, Beatport wins by focusing on depth. Its user base may be smaller, but it’s intensely loyal—and willing to pay for ownership, exclusivity, and high-quality audio files.
Regionally, Europe remains its strongest market, but revenue is rising in North America and Asia, fueled by a new generation of DJs and bedroom producers finding their footing in niche genres.
