Definitive Bob Marley documentary to premiere on April 25th
Despite his passing in 1981, Bob Marley and his legendary music continue to impact fans worldwide. The late singer would have turned 80 this year, and new interviews and footage will be released in celebration alongside a rerelease of the 2012 documentary, MARLEY.
Created in collaboration with Ziggy Marley’s Tuff Gong Worldwide, the new release of MARLEY by Kevin Macdonald offers fans new material of the incredible life and artistry of Bob Marley. The release coincides with a yearlong celebration of what would have been the singer’s 80th birthday this year. The remastered version of MARLEY will hit streaming services on April 25th, allowing US fans to revisit the documentary with a global release set for July 15th. A new DVD/ Blu-ray collection will provide an additional two hours of never-before-seen interviews and live footage to further excite fans of Bob Marley.
While the documentary will be available to stream at home, a limited theatrical release of MARLEY has also been announced for the summer. The cinema run will occur throughout the summer, with details set to be announced in June. Although Bob Marley tragically passed away in 1981, his legacy remains strong and even includes a feature-length movie, titled One Love, that was released in 2024. The 80th Edition Collectors DVD of MARLEY will provide further insight into the magic of Bob Marley and help fans worldwide celebrate his incredible musical legacy.
