deadmau5 apologizes after Coachella set with ZHU

Tdeadmau5 and ZHU’s back-to-back performance at Coachella on Friday night left many in the crowd puzzled. However, clips from the official livestream and circulating videos soon shed light on what unfolded. Throughout the performance, deadmau5 appeared visibly intoxicated, slurring his speech and repeatedly drinking on stage. As the show came to an end, he briefly thanked the audience before tossing the microphone and walking off.

The next day, deadmau5 addressed the situation with a candid apology via social media. “Even my cat is disappointed in me. Though, it could be argued she always has been,” he wrote. He acknowledged being too drunk to finish the set and jokingly blamed ZHU for introducing him to whisky. Still, he praised the first three-quarters of their performance and thanked ZHU for carrying him through the rest.
