Four Tet delivers remix of new track from The Cure: Listen
After delivering their highly anticipated new album last year, The Cure continues exploring new sounds with an upcoming remix collection. Four Tet is amongst the incredible collection of producers who reimagine the songs, and his remix of Alone is out now.
Last year, Robert Smith and The Cure returned with their first full-length album in 16 years, Songs Of A Lost World. It showcased the group’s continued ability to craft emotionally tinged indie rock while connecting with a modern audience. In the months since, the group has continued to promote the album, first releasing a live performance of the set and now focusing on a remixed version of the collection. Titled Mixes Of A Lost World, it will feature remixes from artists such as Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, Daybreakers, Four Tet, and more.
Although the full collection won’t be released until June 13th, a new interpretation of Alone from Four Tet has been shared on streaming services. Combining both artists’ mastery of space and emotion, Four Tet expertly adds his electronic production to the track, allowing for a new sensory exploration of Robert Smith’s original composition. The track, which originally served as the opening to the new album, maintains the extended instrumental introduction before The Cure’s vocalist arrives over as lush array of synths and percussion.
