Lady Gaga brings out Gesaffelstein for Coachella headline set

Coachella 2025 has officially begun in the California desert, and Lady Gaga brought all the energy to her Friday night closing set. With a heavy focus on her most recent album, she also brought out one of her producers for the epic performance.

This is the second time in her storied career that Lady Gaga has been tapped to headline the Coachella mainstage. It speaks to her artistry and popularity that she continues to earn that highly coveted spot. For her 2025 performance, she would officially begin the MAYHEM-era of her career, updating her stage show to match the industrial feel of her latest album. Taking the stage after Missy Elliot, Gaga leaned heavily into her new album, playing 11 tracks from it as well as hits from her earlier albums.

After tapping famed producers Skrillex, Axwell, Madeon, Boys Noize, and Tchami for her last release, she went even deeper into the dance music scene for Mayhem. Helping craft the dirty, underground production of the release, she looked to Gesaffelstein for his expertise in the studio. The result was yet another incredible step forward for the dance-influenced pop star, and she paid it back by inviting him on stage for her Coachella set. Gesaffelstein stepped onstage for Act III of the performance, taking the stage for the track Killah. It is a massive nod to the acclaimed producer, and exciting to see Lady Gaga showcase such a talent on the Coachella mainstage.
