To mark two decades since the release of her landmark 2005 album, The Emancipation of Mimi, Mariah Carey has announced a comprehensive 20th anniversary reissue, arriving May 30 via Def Jam Records/UMe. Carey leads the expanded release with a 5LP vinyl box set she curated herself, offering longtime fans an extensive look into one of the most pivotal chapters of her career.

This deluxe edition gathers the original tracklist alongside standout songs from the Ultra Platinum Edition, including “Don’t Forget About Us,” “Makin’ It Last All Night (What It Do),” and “Secret Love.” In addition, it features dozens of extras—ranging from remixes and collaborations to instrumentals and a cappellas—sourced from rare singles and maxi-CDs. New material also enters the fold, including fresh remixes by KAYTRANADA and Esentrik.

Visually, the collection is no less ambitious. Housed in an elegant slipcase, the package includes a 28-page booklet with rare photos and a personal letter from Carey reflecting on the album’s legacy. A 2LP vinyl version and an extended Digital Deluxe Edition will also be released, the latter offering exclusive bonus tracks yet to be revealed.

“I’m really happy to celebrate ‘Mimi’s Emancipation’ with this special anniversary re-release,” says Mariah Carey, who calls the album a defining moment in her personal and professional life.

In the lead-up to the release, fans can now stream KAYTRANADA’s remix of “Don’t Forget About Us,” paired with a new visualizer. Pre-order The Emancipation of Mimi (20th Anniversary Edition) here: MariahCarey.lnk.to/Mimi20PR
