One of the most eye-opening takeaways from the IMS Business Report 2025, presented live at IMS Ibiza, came not from sales charts or touring data—but from the evolving relationship between fans and technology. Last year, 60 million people globally used AI-powered music creation tools, marking a transformative moment in how music is made and who gets to make it.

Even more striking, 10% of all music consumers reported using generative AI to write lyrics or produce tracks. That figure signals a cultural shift—creativity is no longer gated by skill, gear, or access. Anyone with curiosity and a smartphone can now participate in the creative process.
