Oliver’s New Splice Pack Revives 2000s Drum Grooves
Splice’s best-selling sample creator, Oliver has released a new sample pack on Splice titled Power Tools Decades: 00s, the third installment in their ongoing Decades series. The pack centers around drum grooves and rhythms inspired by the 2000s, reimagined using modern production techniques.
The Decades series began with the 1980s and 1990s sample packs and featured the classic sounds from each era. With this latest release, Oliver turns to the 2000s — a decade marked by the rise of digital production, hip-hop’s mainstream dominance, and genre-blending across pop, rock, and electronic music.
According to the producers, the aim was to capture their favorite grooves from the 2000s and enhance them using current synthesis and processing methods. The sample pack is available now on Splice and is a hefty collection of punchy, polished drums that combine nostalgic influence with a modern approach.
