Skrillex unveils monumental project ‘F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3': Listen

The date may be April Fool’s, but this Skrillex release is certainly no joke.

Last night following a listening party in Miami for a select few lucky fans, Skrillex dropped his entire new album/mixtape through a Dropbox link sent out on an email to fans who had signed up to his mailing list. Today though, he’s officially unveiled the album on all streaming services. Today may be April Fool’s Day, but Skrillex means business.

‘F*CK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3‘ is a love letter to the fans that have followed his journey from the very start, especially when you consider the fact that many tracks featured go back as far as 2011, towards the very start of his career. Gone are the days of fans having to listen to the likes of ‘VOLTAGE‘ and ‘SAN DIEGO VIP’ through live rips on YouTube, which almost feels too good to be true. This project also caps off a 15-year run between him and his label Atlantic Records, creating that bittersweet feeling of an end of an era, whilst simultaneously creating an exciting new chapter for his ever-evolving career.

Featuring collaborators such as Virtual Riot, Space Laces, Dylan Brady, Boys Noize, Wuki and many others, it takes us on a special journey throughout the evolution of the iconic Skrillex sound, with those that have contributed to it along the way. In a way, it feels like one his most personal projects to date, mixing nostalgia with fresh new sounds for fans of all of his evolutions.
