Solomun remixes ‘Television’ by Empire Of The Sun: Listen

Last year, Empire Of The Sun delighted fans by delivering their first new album in eight years. Now, the iconic duo has presented a fresh collection of remixes, including an infectious house edit from Solomun.

With 2024 seeing Empire Of The Sun make their official return, delivering an incredible 12-track album, Ask That God, fans got to digest the lush melodies of Luke Steele over the brilliant music he creates alongside his partner Nick Littlemore. With the excitement and momentum of the release still in full force, the group has now offered up six fresh remixes via the Ask That God (Remixes) album. Featuring new interpretations of album tracks from the likes of LP Giobbi, Vintage Cultage, Solomun, and more, it is a great appendix to the original release. For his contribution, Solomun reimagines the lush melodies and rhythm of Television, adding his flavor and take on the single.

When fans first heard Television on the Ask That God album, it was built around funky guitar stabs, indie-electronica percussion, and bright synths, allowing Steele’s natural vocals to define the energy. Upping the energy, Sololum turns it into a pulsing house track, utilizing a new lead and percussion to reinvent the track while still allowing the vocals to serve as the main attraction of the release. By the time the second drop hits, the full force of the track can be felt, and the power and years of expertise behind Solomun’s production hit the listener.
