deadmau5 reignites beef with James Hype over production
Besides being one of the most famous producers in the world, deadmau5 is also quite famous for his willingness to troll and attack other producers. His most recent bout started at Ultra Music Festival as him and James Hype traded insults over syncing pre-recorded music to visuals.
Trading barbs over their live set-ups, deadmau5 had said that the only way to properly sync visuals to a set was to pre-record the music. In response, James Hype set up a mini stage and recorded him responding both to the comment as well as performing a short live mix complete with deadmau5 logos and a less-than-flattering image of the Canadian producer. Never one to back down, deadmau5 responded quickly, both with several comments and his own, far less polished, video showcasing his visual sync ability.
Delivering both a practical and mocking commentary to Hype’s post, deadmau5 called out the producer for wasting time and money on a production crew while criticizing some of the visual components. Opening his rebuttal, the producer wrote, “Next time don’t bring a wet sponge to a tech fight,” before berating the energy that Hype put into his content. As of this writing, the two have yet to respond to each other, but deadmau5 did release more videos of himself using a CDJ to play video games.
