Flume and JPEGMAFIA have teamed up once again, this time for a bold new EP titled We Live in a Society. Clocking in at just over 16 minutes, this four-track project marks Flume’s first independent release outside of his longtime label, Future Classic.
This isn’t the first time the two have worked together. You might remember their collab ‘How to Build a Relationship’ from Flume’s 2019 mixtape Hi This Is Flume. Since then, they’ve kept in touch musically, with Flume even contributing to JPEGMAFIA’s 2024 album I Lay Down My Life for You. Clearly, the creative spark between them hasn’t faded.
We Live in a Society feels like the next natural step in their evolution. It blends Flume’s off-kilter, glitchy electronic production with JPEGMAFIA’s raw, unpredictable rap style. The result is a project that’s edgy, experimental, and just a little bit chaotic—in a good way.
One major shift here is that this is Flume’s first release as an independent artist, stepping away from his longtime label Future Classic.
