Grand Theft Auto VI delayed until 2026
Since its first release back in 1997, Grand Theft Auto quickly earned a spot amongst the most popular video game series worldwide. As fans’ anticipation for the latest edition continues to grow, the game’s producers have some unfortunate news.
For nearly 3 decades, the Grand Theft Auto brand has sat amongst the most beloved and exciting video game series ever released. With its realistic gameplay and graphics combined with the intense storyline and gritty adventures, it has captured a wide audience. As gaming and gameplay have evolved, so has the world of Grand Theft Auto, taking players through different times and locations while continuing to build more exciting obstacles and engaging challenges. While the developers have rarely rushed a new edition out to fans, it seems they will be further delayed on the next iteration.
Despite Grand Theft Auto V releasing back in 2013, anticipation and dedication to the franchise have not waned in recent years. Players continue to explore the underground crime scene of the franchise and enjoy the exciting car chases and tasks contained within. All of this makes the 6th installment one of the most anticipated releases in the industry. Unfortunately, the producers revealed today that the release date has now been pushed back until May 26th, 2026. The team claims that the extra time is needed to deliver the “level of quality you expect and deserve.” While this news isn’t ideal, fans of the game know that it will be worth the wait and surely capture the attention of gamers everywhere come next year.
