Hardwell launches into orbit with ‘Lift Off’: Listen
Hardwell is back again with a space exploration-style track that brings the sound of the Rebels Never Die album from 2022 on the newly released ‘Lift Off’
The latest Hardwell track favours many, but best of all, it evokes the sound of the 2010s. “Lift Off” was already a big hit at Ultra Miami 2025, and now it’s available on most streaming platforms.
Hardwell‘s love of space programs is undeniable, although he may not have spoken about them publicly. This isn’t a question, because space exploration is a truly fascinating field, packed with inspiration drawn from the incredible things unfolding beyond our not-so-small planet. The fact that he has already had great success with Spaceman, Apollo, and Zero Gravity is proof of this. And now, with ‘Lift Off’, he has aimed straight for orbit (to make the commentary more appropriate to the content). The track, then presented as an ID, was introduced in his Ultra Miami’s 2025 set, which was undoubtedly a big hit even then.
“Lift Off” is based on the sounds of the Rebels Never Die album, which can be classified as Bigroom Techno. It has the stylistic characteristics of new-generation techno and the old-school bigroom elements of Hardwell’s defining festival sounds of 2012-13. The short animated video clip for the track also assists this aforementioned space program style, so the title of the track is not far off the mark. In addition, the production has adopted an energetic tempo, which also provided a strong foundation for Hardwell Ultra’s set. It’s also worth mentioning that the vocals for this song also appear on one of the producer/DJ’s older tracks, namely “The Universe”. And it’s fair to say that the ID, which at the time had no vocals, brought a great atmosphere to the Ultra Mainstage, so it will surely do the same at Tomorrowland this summer.
